launch AABLA

Welcome to the AABLA network!

AABLA: Ayudando Animales Bajo Los Arboles…

The philosophy of this network is that we, as rescue centers, are stronger together. Wildlife rescue is a relatively new field with very little published scientific literature on best practices. Therefore at times we must rely on our own personal successes and failures to guide us. But together we have so much more experience. This network exists to be a permanent library for everything we have learned over the years with our collective experience. Through AABLA, we can give the best possible care, lift each other up, and reach our goals faster.

As rescue centers, our short term goals are to provide better care and save more wildlife. Read and participate in the Forum Topics for questions that have been asked or provide answers for situations you have experienced. Look through the AABLA Library to find helpful reference documents and upload your own!

Our long term goals are for rescue centers to not be necessary anymore – that is to eventually solve the human-wildlife conflict. With such big-picture goals it is impossible to do this alone. Use the Calendar feature to share events and projects. AABLA is not just for sharing information on how to treat injuries and illnesses, but also to organize and coordinate efforts, large and small, to fight the damage that humans have had on our natural ecosystem in Costa Rica and potentially even abroad! This may include organizing legislation for insulating the electrical grid or fundraising large and small projects.

All of us have taken it upon ourselves to mitigate the damage that has been done. The potential of how AABLA can help is as high as we want it.

Together we can make a brighter future!
